Bhutan’s currency is the Ngultrum (Nu.) that is pegged to the Indian rupee. US dollar are also accepted only at certain shops, restaurants and hotels but I suggest the clients to change foreign currency into local currency. Generally, credits cards are not accepted, with the exception of hotels.

Am I allowed to take pictures anywhere and everywhere in Bhutan?

Bhutan is considered as picturesque place but there some places where we are not allowed to take phots especially inside the temples, fortress, museum, and some other government places. There is simple logic whether you are not allowed or allowed to take photography, if you have shoes on your foot then you are allowed to take photo but if you don’t have shoes on your foot then you are not allowed to take photos. Since you have to remove your shoes when you get inside the temple.
